Sheep Shearing Event Planned In San Ramon

Head to Forest Homes Park Saturday for sheep shearing, wool spinning, tractor rides and more.

SAN RAMON, CA - They say March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, so what better way to celebrate April than by visiting sheep?

The San Ramon Historic Foundation is hosting a Sheep Shearing Day at Forest Home Farms Historic Park on Saturday, one of its largest annual events. Last year, the event drew in over 2000 guests. Online tickets are sold out as of Friday, but tickets can be purchased at the gate on Saturday.

The community is invited to visit the farm Saturday from 10-3 to view a live sheep shearing, which is available until all the sheep have been shorn. A ticket also buys tours of the on-site David Glass House, a two-story Victorian-style home from the 1860s or 1870s; wool spinning and sheep dog demonstrations. Food will also be available on-site, and tractor rides are available for an extra fee.
