Police say most of the stolen items were purses and gym bags left in cars parked outside and the , both on San Ramon Valley Boulevard.
"It appears the thief/thieves were able to look into each vehicle, see the items and smash the window closest to the items," said Detective Mike Green. "This allowed them to merely reach inside the broken window and retrieve the items."

Police said it's important for people to keep in mind that thieves are out in full force during the holidays, often waiting in parking lots to see where in the car people place their belongings.
"People should always lock their vehicles and do not leave anything in view in the vehicle," said Lt. Dan Pratt.
