Smash-n-Grab Spree Logged In San Ramon

Police report 13 vehicles had windows smashed and one car was stolen.

SAN RAMON, CA – Thirteen smash-and-grab car break-ins and vandalism cases were reported in one night last week in San Ramon, according to police.

The San Ramon Police Department said the cases occurred overnight from July 5 at about 10 p.m. to July 6 at 6 a.m. in neighborhoods west of San Ramon Valley Boulevard between Pine Valley and Bollinger Canyon roads.

Windows were smashed in all of the 13 car burglaries, but only two of the targeted vehicles had valuables inside.

"Unfortunately, a key fob was stolen from within one of the vehicles and the suspect used it to steal another vehicle," the department said. "The vehicle has been located by police but no arrests have been made."

San Ramon police reminds residents to remove all valuables from their cars, and to always report suspicious activity to the San Ramon dispatch at 925-973-2779.
