Dorris-Eaton is an independent school serving students from preschool through eighth grade. For more than 70 years, we have earned a reputation for exceptional teaching and academic excellence. Our six-acre preschool campus in Alamo offers a warm, nurturing environment where young learners explore, discover, and develop confidence. A rich curriculum, complemented by classes in art, Spanish, and music, gives children a solid foundation for kindergarten and the years ahead. At our K–8 San Ramon campus, the curriculum emphasizes strong academic fundamentals while encouraging critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. Classes in art, Spanish, music, and physical education, along with a wide variety of electives for students in grades 6–8, broaden the educational experience. Small class sizes allow teachers to recognize individual strengths, provide meaningful feedback, and help students build effective study habits and communication skills. Both campuses offer before- and after-school care as well as summer workshops. In San Ramon, after-school offerings include soccer, piano, robotics, chess, and 3D printing and design. Character development is woven throughout the school day. Students learn and practice kindness, respect, responsibility, and a growth mindset, while community service, school-wide volunteer programs, and age-appropriate leadership opportunities foster a sense of social responsibility.

Offering youth soccer for boys & girls ages 4-18 since 1973

San Ramon FC

San Ramon FC develops players, character, and community through soccer. With both recreational and competitive programs, the club has teams for boys and girls, welcoming both beginners and players with advanced skills. Popular fall recreational programs include the U5-U8 Junior Academy and the U9-U19 Recreational program. The Junior Academy program is also offered in the winter and spring. The club's youth competitive program holds tryouts annually in May for its U7 Academy, U8-U19 Competitive, and ECNL-RL level teams. Camps are frequently offered during winter and summer breaks. Competitive youth futsal training and league play are available in the winter, as part of its youth futsal affiliate, 925 Futsal. San Ramon FC has received US Soccer's Players First designation and it promotes 11 pillars of character important for success in soccer and in life. Financial aid is often available to families that qualify for assistance. The club has a growing pro-development program, featuring a competitive women's team and two men's teams. These talented adult teams give local residents the opportunity to watch competitive adult soccer matches minutes from home. More importantly, they give skillful young adult players in the area the opportunity to further develop their soccer skills through competitive play. Older teenage players in the club also train and play on these pro-development teams to help them gain valuable experience. With an emphasis on its 11 pillars of character, the club continues to strive to teach the beautiful game to youth players in the community and to help them develop their full potential, both as players and as people. Led by Kai Lyons, winner of the 2022 Chito Latamblet Award for Best Tresero at the National Changüí Festival of Guantánamo, Cuba, this special edition of A Night in Havana brings together a remarkable group of musicians with deep roots in Cuban musical traditions.

Featured on lead vocals is José Andrés “El Sinsonte” Rodríguez, a celebrated Cuban singer and composer from Guantánamo and a leading voice in the changüí tradition. Known for his powerful vocals, charismatic stage presence, and mastery of improvised singing, José Andrés brings the sound of eastern Cuba directly to the stage, drawing from a musical tradition passed down through generations. His career has been closely connected to Grupo Changüí de Guantánamo, one of Cuba’s most important ensembles dedicated to preserving and advancing this historic style.

Joining Kai and José Andrés are Einar “Tito” Leliebre on percussion and vocals and Ernesto Mazar Kindelán on bass. Together, the ensemble brings decades of experience across Afro-Cuban music, changüí, Latin jazz, and contemporary Cuban traditions.

Their musical journeys have connected them with celebrated artists and ensembles including John Santos, Omar Sosa, Arturo O’Farrill, La Charanga Habanera, and Los Van Van.

Expect an evening full of rhythm, warmth, and virtuosity — from soulful Cuban vocals and romantic boleros to infectious dance grooves and the exhilarating energy of changüí.
