'Suspicious' Contact With Teen Girl Reported In San Ramon

"There were no reported threats or crimes committed, but the contact was suspicious," police said.

SAN RAMON, CA — A 13-year-old girl walking home from school Thursday in the area of Montevideo Elementary on Broadmoor Drive was approached by a young adult male, and the San Ramon Police Department said it is actively investigating the incident.

At approximately 3:29 p.m., the Hispanic man, believed to be about 20 years old, approached the girl and started talking to her. He asked for directions and complimented the way her jeans looked, according to the San Ramon Police Department.

The man then told the girl to have a good day, walked to his vehicle and drove off.

"There were no reported threats or crimes committed, but the contact was suspicious," police said.

The girl did not know the man. He is described at about 5'7" tall weighing 130 pounds with short-cropped black hair, a short goatee, wearing a black t-shirt and baggy jeans. He was driving a white “beat-up” sedan, according to police.
