Tandoor Gary, A Legend is Born!

So I was sitting at Café Tandoor with my buddy Gary (who happens to own the place, Hey a little name dropping here and there never hurt anybody…) and we were talking about the night he went to war against a bottle of  Walker Blue Label and lost. Being a Scotch man myself, I put on a brave face and told him he had nothing to be ashamed of. Of course I knew better, and thought much, MUCH less of him for several minutes… Then he informed me that it was a 1.5 Liter that he had battled, and instantly the pity and shame I felt for this, less than a man, this pathetic pretender, exploded in front of my eyes and I saw the TRUTH!  And in that moment the clouds parted, and a ray of Sunshine beamed down directly onto and into Gary’s Face and body, and I began to tremble as I realized that I was three feet away from a miracle on Earth. A holy man, someone to bow to, a being to be revered, and I a simple man chosen by the fates to be close enough to feel his Aura! Tears began to well up inside as I asked meekly, weakly, a subordinate next to a great power, “Hhow much dddid you?” I stammered on “A 1.5 liter of Blue Label?” I coughed out the inevitable, “Got any Left?” And then collapsed into a sweaty pool of my own cowardice…

I awoke to the sound of laughter, a deep confident booming laughter that could have only emanated from the bellows of the ONE, the GARY. And I heard a Lark as it hears its nature’s mate; l heard the beautiful sound of the cool rain pelting down a tin roof on a muggy Mumbai in May. I felt the souls of all the great men from Manila Bay to Havana Cuba. The hero’s of yore and the forgotten masses as stood as one inside my proud and now Olympic heart, as GARY the Great placed the highball at my hand. Two ice cubes (never more, never less) and two GARY sized jiggers of Blue. I sobbed, I sobbed, I thanked him and I sobbed…
