The Best Things in Life are Free, Except for Pizza…

‘Foodnearu’ our local restaurant food delivery facilitator based in Livermore is entering into its seventh month of business. Not any great milestone perhaps, yet for us every day brings new challenges, new adventures, and more experience. ‘Foodnearu’ has grown in size and stature at really a fantastic rate. We started out facilitating delivery of great quality restaurant food from some of the most popular and widely known local restaurants to all of the local hotel/motels in Livermore that either didn’t have or could not provide food service to their guests. Hotels such as “The Holiday Inn Express” “The Hampton Inn” “The Residence Inn” “The Courtyard By Marriott” etc.

Our concept at ‘Foodnearu’, our ‘Mission statement’ if you will, became “At ‘Foodnearu’ we give you the luxury of options!” So with that in mind we went to a select few restaurants and asked them to let us be their food delivery facilitator. We chose several different types of cuisines that would fit into our concept, and created partnerships with them. We chose not to go after the corporate type restaurants, preferring instead to concentrate on the local privately or family owned and operated bistros, cafés, roadhouses, and the like. For a couple of good reasons we liked this idea. First and foremost, we felt that our business should reflect the local community, and selfishly we wanted to be a part of that community. Also any hotel/motel guests from other counties, states, or even other countries could now experience through ‘Foodnearu’ a bit of the local flavor of Livermore.

After doing some rather extensive research, (actually our research took about half a day) we understood that Livermore and the entire Tri-Valley area is really one great melting pot… People come here from around the globe to work, to live, to visit.  We are basically “Ground Zero” when it comes to the technology/science sector of the United States of America. The ‘Silicon valley’ may be considered by some to be a tad southwest of us in San Jose and Mountain View etc. however, all you need do is drive down the I-580 corridor (I should say crawl with traffic as bad as it is.) to see “Oracle”, “SAP”, “Dell”.   Major corporate headquarters for “Safeway”, “Kaiser”, “Chevron”, all based here. Turn around and head a few miles East on the same I-580 freeway and you will find “Sandia Labs” and of course the historical world renowned “Lawrence Livermore Lab.” A melting pot indeed…

It seems to me anyway that one of the benefits, an unintentional serendipity if you will of the worldwide stir fry that is our valley is that differing cultures brought together do not always clash, and the Tri-valley is proof of that. And each culture brings with it a piece of home; religion, art, song and folklore, and of course “FOOD!” Nothing like home cookin’ as they say… At ‘Foodnearu’ we saw so many wonderful and unique cuisines available to the public right here in our own backyard, and we tapped that resource immediately. When you go to our site www.foodnearu.com, you will find Japanese cuisine, Chinese cuisine, Afghan Cuisine, Indian cuisine, Italian cuisine, Thai cuisine, of course American cuisine, Filipino cuisine, French cuisine, British cuisine, etc. etc. etc. In fact you need no longer go online to find us, simply use your Smartphone to find the wonderland of cuisines from around the globe that we have put together for your dining experience, adventures, and pleasures.

As we have grown, we have expanded our delivery facilitation to offer service to businesses and corporations, as well as private residences. Our family of restaurants that we partner with has grown and continues to grow by the week. Currently our services are available in Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton, and now San Ramon. Soon the towns of Danville and Walnut Creek will have heard of and be enjoying the ‘Foodnearu’ experience.

To all of the citizens, visitors, working folks living a home away from home, we here at ‘Foodnearu’ say thank you for embracing us as one yours, for making us one of us.

A Hearty thanks and happy dining to all,

Keith Patrick Brown
