Training Drill Near Iron Horse Trail in San Ramon May Cause Traffic Congestion

The drill will be held Tuesday morning.

SAN RAMON, CA — Residents and drivers in the area of Bollinger Canyon Road and Montevideo Drive may notice some traffic congestion Tuesday morning due to a multi-agency training drill, East Bay Regional Parks District officials said.

A new drill simulating an oil spill will be held adjacent to the Iron Horse Trail between Bollinger Canyon Road and Montevideo Drive, according to a statement released by park officials.

Drivers will be able to see emergency response vehicles from the road for the duration of the training.

“There will be signs in place letting people know it’s a drill,” East Bay Regional Parks District spokesperson Isa Polt-Jones said.

The training will be a multi-agency effort that will include California Fish & Wildlife, San Ramon Police, San Ramon Valley Fire District, and the Contra Costa County Hazardous Response Team.

The drill will be held from 8 a.m. to about 12 p.m. and the trail will remain open during the training.
