Tri-Valley Teens Sell Stickers To Support COVID-19 Efforts

Four Dougherty Valley High students crafted stickers inspired by Bay Area landmarks, sweet treats and more for a good cause.

SAN RAMON, CA — Four San Ramon teens have used their time in quarantine to start TheStickerProject, an online sticker store with proceeds going to the University of California, San Francisco COVID-19 Response Fund.

Sticker sheets cost from $3 to $5 a pop and feature sweet ice cream cones, Bay Area icons, outdoor scenes, scenes from stay-at-home life and succulents.

"We did not just want to sit around and watch," said co-founder Megan Xu in an email. "We wanted to take action to better our community."

Xu and friend Sahiti Peddibhotla first put their artsy skills to use and launched the site in March. Then friends Sanjana Prasad and Daniela Wise came onboard to help with marketing. More orders started pouring in.

So far Xu said they've raised more than $100 for patients and health care workers served by the UCSF COVID-19 Response Fund. They're also looking into supporting Tri-Valley organizations that are distributing food and hygeine products.

When the pandemic winds down, Xu said she hopes to continue TheStickerProject and donate more money for health care workers.
