What Would You Build in San Ramon?

We asked Patch readers what they would build or fix in San Ramon with $1 million. Here's what you said.

San Ramon, CA - Earlier this week, San Ramon Patch asked our Facebook readers what they would build or fix in town if they were given $1 million.

Readers from across the area responded with answers varying from new playgrounds, renovated high schools and improved hospitals.

Also early this week, U.S. News and World Report released its list of the Top 10 Children’s Hospitals Across the Country. The hospitals were ranked in terms of “clinical outcomes,” “efficient coordination of care,” and “care-related resources.”

The publication periodically releases lists regarding the best schools in the country as well as most livable cities. Many of the things that make a town or city ‘livable’ are resources and public spaces i.e. good schools, roads, parks, libraries, etc. Not surprisingly, these were many of the things readers said they would build or fix in their town if granted $1 million to do so.

  • "Restrooms on Iron Horse Trail. Then I'd pay the developers to stop ruining our hillsides."
  • "Make trails instead of holding land for future developments. Trail to Windermere at Pine Valley Road. Water and restrooms on Iron Horse."
  • "I would buy the old Applebee's spot and bring back Chili's to San Ramon!"
  • "I would overhaul our so called dog parks. San Ramon should take a look at the dog parks in both Danville and Dublin and take a clue. It's a shame that our dog parks are dilapidated, dirty and plain 'ol unpleasant for dogs and humans!"
