Woman Killed in Pleasant Hill Crash Was 82-Year-Old From Danville

The accident occurred on Monday.

An elderly woman who died after a collision in Pleasant Hill on Monday has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office as 82-year-old Danville resident Billye Chilcott.

Chilcott was driving on Contra Costa Boulevard near Taylor Boulevard around 11 a.m. Monday when she lost control of her car, drove onto the sidewalk, knocked over signs and hit a young man holding a bicycle, Pleasant Hill police said.

Police said Chilcott suffered significant injuries and was given emergency care at the scene before being transferred to a hospital.

She was later pronounced dead.

Police said the pedestrian hit by Chilcott’s car suffered significant injuries to his lower extremities and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating what caused the collision, including the possibility that Chilcott suffered a medical emergency before losing control of her vehicle.

Police had no additional information about the crash as of this morning.
