Santa Barbara Police arrest apartment complex burglar (keyt.com) — Santa Barbara police have arrested a 19-year-old suspected of burglarizing 14 apartments and stealing two cars after an earlier attempt to detain him near Cliff and Loma Alta drives. Officers say they recovered the vehicles and much of the stolen property, and they're asking anyone with additional information to contact investigators to help wrap up the case.
   

2. 5 Years In, Community Hot Rod Project Connects People One 'Wrench at a Time' (noozhawk.com) — Santa Barbara's Community Hot Rod Project is turning classic car meetups at Stearns Wharf and Goleta into hands-on training and community-building opportunities for locals of all ages. The nonprofit is raising funds for a vocational training center in town while offering free programs that teach kids and adults how to build and restore cars, reviving lost shop-class skills.
   

3. Bellosguardo Foundation Sues County Alleging It Should Be Exempt From Property Taxes (noozhawk.com) — The Bellosguardo Foundation is suing Santa Barbara County, arguing the historic Clark Estate on East Cabrillo should be exempt from property taxes as a public museum and seeking refunds exceeding $1.1 million. The dispute comes after Santa Barbara's Planning Commission approved public tours and events at the landmark mansion, which now hosts $100 tours and special programs like a wine-and-history evening with a UCSB professor.
   

4. Santa Barbara Sea Glass & Ocean Arts Festival welcomes beachcombers (keyt.com) — Santa Barbara residents can explore sea-glass art, jewelry, and beach-inspired crafts today as the Sea Glass & Ocean Arts Festival marks its 11th year at Earl Warren Showgrounds. With live entertainment and dozens of artists and collectors, the event offers a hands-on way to enjoy ocean-themed creativity and support makers with deep ties to West Coast beaches.
   

5. Lucas Neushul's Clutch Plays Lift Dos Pueblos Water Polo to First Santa Barbara Invitational Title (noozhawk.com) — Local water polo fans just saw a thriller, as Dos Pueblos clinched its first-ever Santa Barbara Invitational title at Elings Aquatic Center with a 17-16 overtime win over Laguna Beach. Lucas Neushul scored nine goals, including the late game-winner, giving the Goleta-based Chargers big momentum heading into a demanding South Coast Tournament against top Southern California teams.
