The case, centered on a deadly downtown confrontation, led prosecutors to revise initial murder and gang charges after video supported self-defense claims, while related cases and a separate Bohnett Park homicide continue through Santa Barbara courts.
   

2. Santa Barbara Outlasts Moorpark 38-24 in Channel League Opener (independent.com) — Santa Barbara High's Dons stretched their winning streak to four games with a 38-24 home victory over Moorpark in the Channel League opener at Peabody Stadium. Quarterback Griffin Arnold threw for 423 yards and four touchdowns as Santa Barbara's fast start and late clock‑killing drive secured the win and set up a road trip to Ventura next week.
   

3. Dense fog advisory issued by the NWS until Friday morning (sacbee.com) — If you're heading to Santa Barbara County's Central Coast beaches this morning, expect dense fog with visibility dropping to a quarter-mile or less until 10 a.m. The National Weather Service urges drivers to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra space on the roads, or delay travel if possible while conditions improve.
