$100,000 In Merchandise Stolen: Santa Cruz Antique Shop Burglary
Judi Wyant Antiques lost more than $100,000 in merchandise during a burglary early Friday morning.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — Judi Wyant Antiques on Pacific Avenue was burglarized around 3:30 a.m. Friday, with more than $100,000 in merchandise taken in 90 seconds, according to the Santa Cruz Police Department. Security camera footage showed two people in hooded sweatshirts and gloves breaking the store's glass door, shattering display cases with a hammer, stealing jewelry and running out the back door.
Police responded to the scene to find the damage had been done. A full inventory is currently being done to determine the full extent of the business's loss.
Investigators are reviewing evidence taken at the scene and security footage of nearby places. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SCPD Investigations Unit at 831-420-5820.
