19 Suspected DUI Drivers Arrested In Santa Cruz County: CHP
The California Highway Patrol in Santa Cruz County says one of the drivers hit a patrol car and injured a deputy.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — California Highway Patrol officers in Santa Cruz County arrested 19 people suspected of driving while intoxicated last weekend. One of the suspects allegedly struck a Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office patrol car. Authorities said the driver of a white truck was driving the wrong direction on Airport Boulevard when he hit the patrol car. The deputy suffered minor injuries and is expected to recover.
Another driver struck five vehicles parked on Portola Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Drivers are encouraged to always designate a driver, use alternative methods of transportation to get home and download the Designated Driver VIP, or DDVIP, a free mobile app for Android or iPhone. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reminds everyone to report suspected drunken driving by calling 911.
