SANTA CRUZ, CA — A five-hour enforcement operation Thursday in Santa Cruz resulted in multiple citations, it was announced. The Santa Cruz Police Department crackdown took place from 7 a.m. to noon Thursday and was focused on violations made by bicyclists, drivers and pedestrians that put roadway users at risk.
Twenty-six citations were issued — the majority included failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and failing to stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk. One pedestrian was cited for failing to use a crosswalk, and one bicyclist was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian, according to the SCPD.

Officers were also on the lookout for drivers speeding, making illegal turns, failing to stop for signs and signals, and other dangerous violations.
