5 Men Detained In Connection To Santa Cruz Robbery
Santa Cruz police were called about 5:50 p.m. to a parking lot in the 700 block of West Cliff Drive.

SANTA CRUZ, CA -- Five men were detained tonight for questioning after an armed robbery that left a 50-year-old man with head injuries, including a grazing gunshot. Santa Cruz police were called about 5:50 p.m. to a parking lot in the 700 block of West Cliff Drive, where the 50-year-old man was found with cuts to his head as well as a graze wound caused by a gunshot, police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said five men attacked the 50-year-old victim, demanding "his personal property" and striking him repeatedly in the head.

One of them fired a weapon at the victim, whose head was grazed by a round, police said.
Witnesses gave police a description of the suspects - five men, ages 18 to 23 - as well as a vehicle description and a license plate number, police said.

Soon after, a silver BMW was pulled over near Harvey West Park and all five men, from Santa Cruz and Monterey counties, were taken into custody for questioning.
No arrests had been made by early tonight; potential charges include armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
