68 Pounds Of Meth Recovered By Santa Cruz K-9, CHP Says
K-9 Buddy may be retiring soon, but he isn't slowing down.
SAN JOSE, CA — California Highway Patrol — Santa Cruz said its K-9 Buddy recovered 68 pounds of meth from an East Bay man's car during a San Jose traffic stop.
Buddy and his officer were near a Mazda 3 with no license plate and tinted windows when Buddy started barking, CHP said. He kept barking until the traffic stop.
Photos posted to CHP's Facebook page indicate the drugs were found in two black duffel bags. There were dozens of bags of drugs inside the duffel, photos show.

"You would have never guessed that Buddy is retiring in a couple of months because of his never-ending enthusiasm to go to work every single for day," CHP — Santa Cruz wrote on its Facebook page.
