• Breaking: New wildfire reported in Santa Cruz County on June 3 (sacbee.com) — A new wildfire was reported Wednesday morning in Santa Cruz County, burning on private land with cause and containment still unknown. The blaze, listed as the Santa Cruz St Boulder_creek fire, was first detected at 7:03 a.m., and officials are monitoring conditions as it develops.    

• Santa Cruz Opera Project brings immersive ‘La Bohème' to Woodhouse brewery (santacruzsentinel.com) — Santa Cruz Opera Project is staging an immersive, Santa Cruz–set English adaptation of Puccini’s “La Bohème” at Woodhouse Blending & Brewing June 10–14, including a pay-what-you-can preview. With site-specific staging, interactive artistic moments, and a chamber ensemble, the production aims to make opera feel accessible while reflecting both the bohemian spirit and real-life challenges of living in Santa Cruz.    

• Santa Cruz Pride Honors Marriage Equality Grand Marshals (goodtimes.sc) — Santa Cruz Pride 2026 is taking over downtown this week, with Sunday’s parade on Pacific Avenue honoring Grand Marshals Assemblywoman Gail Pellerin and longtime local couple Dinah Phillips and Gail Groves. From youth drag showcases and a Nor Cal Pride Band to Queerlantis at the Vets Hall and special exhibits at MAH, residents can plug into LGBTQ+ history, activism, and celebration all over town.
