Animal Shelter To Celebrate 'St. Pittie’s Day' Weekend
The "Adopt-a-thon" will include a pub crawl/fundraiser and free professional pet portraits for all Santa Cruz County owners of Pit Bulls.
From SCCAS:To raise awareness and find good homes for adoptable dogs, the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter (SCCAS) will host “Saint Pittie’s Day Weekend Celebration” March 17-18 to highlight what loving companions pit bulls can be when given the right training, care and environment.
The weekend-long “Adopt-a-thon” will include a pub crawl/fundraiser and free professional pet
portraits for all Santa Cruz County owners of pit bulls and pit bull mixes. SCCAS will also be offering special gifts for the lucky people who adopt pit bulls or pit bull mixes from the Santa Cruz shelter location (7th Ave. and Rodriguez St.), including:
- FREE one-on-one training consult with Carla Braden, SCCAS Behavior & Training Coordinator, PMCT, CPDT-KA, CBCC-KA
- FREE front-clip harness and dog toys for your new family member
- FREE St. Pittie’s Day or SCCAS T-shirt for adopter

Pit Stop Pub Crawl for a Cause!
In-person registration opens Thursday, March 1st at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter, 2200 7th Ave., Santa Cruz (main entrance on Rodriguez Street). Fee of $25 supports Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter’s programs and services, and includes:
