Armed Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested In Santa Cruz County

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A 30-year-old man suspected in a domestic violence case was arrested by Santa Cruz County deputies this week.

Jeffrey Greer of Boulder Creek was found in a parked car Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on Maple Street. According to the sheriff's office, a loaded 9mm handgun with the serial number filed off and a small amount of methamphetamine were found inside the vehicle.

Greer was arrested and booked on various charges, including domestic violence, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotics while armed with a gun, and altering a firearm, according to the sheriff's office.

Greer has had several run-ins with the law, including in 2011 when he was arrested for being a felon in possession of a handgun in the company of four teenagers, and again in 2018 for allegedly making a criminal threat with intent to terrorize, altering and displaying an imitation firearm in public, and committing a felony while released on bail.
