Beach Shooting: Arrest Made, Sheriff's Office Says

The shooting took place August 2, but witnesses weren't willing to identify the shooter, the sheriff's office said.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A man has been arrested in connection with an August 2 shooting at Sunny Cove Beach.

Adrian Galvan, 20, was arrested on suspicion of shooting at an inhabited car or building and gang activity, jail records show. He was booked into Santa Cruz County jail Wednesday.

Deputies arrived to the scene of the shooting in August and received a description of the suspect's car, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. A car matching the description was stopped and a gun thought to be involved was found nearby, but no witnesses identified the shooter, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office worked in conjunction with agencies including the Hollister Police Department and San Benito County Sheriff's Office to execute six search warrants in Hollister and arrest Galvan.
