Broadway/California/Soquel Avenue Paving Project Begins Monday
Work will be at five locations and will continue into January, officials said.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — Santa Cruz will begin its Broadway, California Street and Soquel Avenue Overlay Project on Monday, Nov. 4.
The project, funded by Measure H tax dollars, will be weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will continue weekdays into January, city officials said. Pavement will be rehabilitated in five locations:
- Broadway from Clay Street to Ocean Street.
- California Street from Laurel Street north for 250 feet.
- Intersection of Soquel Avenue and La Fonda Avenue.
- Plymouth Street at Highway 1 southbound on-ramp.
- 280 feet of Murray Street.
Traffic control will be in place during construction hours with details updated at www.cityofsantacruz.com. The public is advised to seek alternate routes when possible.

The work will include grinding existing pavement, installation of hot mix asphalt pavement and roadway striping, the city said, adding that anyone with concerns or questions can contact Project Manager Ricardo Valdés, at (831) 420-5198 or RValdes@cityofsantacruz.com.
