This special event allows your homeschool, non-traditional or small class to travel back in time to experience life on a dairy ranch over 120 years ago through a self-guided field trip at Wilder Ranch State Park. Participate in volunteer-lead stations, games, and activities at your own pace! No RSVP necessary. This event is free but donations are appreciated. Day-use parking is $10 and helps support the park! ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:
In Celebration of the USA’s 250th Anniversary, the Voice Studio of Thomas Clark presents a fully-staged version of Puccini’s The Girl of the Golden West, in a new English translation by Thomas Clark. Originally written in 1905 by playwright David Belasco (who also authored Madame Butterfly), The Girl of the Golden West takes place during the Gold Rush in California around 1849. The original play was used as the basis for the opera La Fanciulla del West by Puccini in 1910, and has enjoyed great success since its premiere at the Metropolitan Opera in NYC. That production starred Emmy Destinn and Enrico Caruso, with the esteemed Arturo Toscanini conducting. Puccini himself declared that La Fanciulla del West was his finest opera. Thomas Clark’s new translation promises to bring contemporary audiences even closer to the essence of the opera, the themes of which involve deception, desire, love, forgiveness, and ultimately, redemption. The opera will be presented complete (i.e., without cuts to the score), a rarity for performances of this work.
This new production features professional, world-class-performers: Jordan Best as Minnie, owner of the Polka Saloon, Xavier Prado as the bandit Dick Johnson (first 6 performances; John Kun Park sings the final 2), and Robert Balonek as Sheriff Jack Rance. Additional cast includes: Tim Tsang, Sebastian Stock, Michael Good, Joshua Porter, Jace Parker, Joshua Porter, Rick Bogart, Noah Nelson Fadrigon Llorando, Gary L. Stanford, Jr., Lizz Hodgin Weihrauch, Thomas Clark, Diego Granoble, Veronica Talton, Leonardo Mangalindan.
The performance is conducted from the piano by Umberto Barisciano. Gary L. Stanford, Jr., is the stage director.

The Ocean Film Festival World Tour, now in its 13th year, is set to make a splash across the globe in 2026, returning with a powerful and visually stunning line-up of films that celebrate the ocean from every angle — above the surface, beneath the waves, and deep into the stories that connect us all to the sea.
This year’s tour promises an unforgettable night out for ocean lovers, featuring six remarkable films from around the globe.&nbsp; From high-stakes adventure and record-breaking journeys to intimate portraits of marine life and environmental restoration, the 2026 program is packed with breathtaking cinematography, inspiring characters, and a deep respect for the ocean and the communities shaped by it.
One of the standout films in the 2026 program is The Raftsmen, an epic story of courage and endurance. Twelve unlikely adventurers from seven different countries come together to attempt a feat few would dare imagine — crossing the world’s largest ocean on three handmade wooden rafts, guided only by the sun and stars. Battling storms, starvation, and the psychological toll of life at sea, their six-month journey remains the longest raft expedition ever completed. Now, fifty years later, the original 16mm footage has been beautifully restored into 4K, allowing modern audiences to witness the sheer scale of this once-in-a-lifetime ocean odyssey.
