CAO At Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center Named

Trina White brings more than 16 years of healthcare management experience to her new role.

From Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center: Trina White has been named chief administrative officer of Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center, part of the Sutter Health network. White, who was vice president of operations for Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation, started her new post Oct. 23,2017.

White brings more than 16 years of healthcare management experience to her new role. She began her career as a physical therapist but quickly discovered she enjoyed healthcare management. Her diverse background includes leadership of physician groups and clinics, various inpatient and outpatient services as well as planning, opening and running a 126-bed women’s specialty hospital. “White has strong leadership skills and has been responsible for managing clinical operations in different settings,” said Julie Petrini, CEO of Hospitals, Sutter Health Bay Area. “Her experience combined with her passion for excellent patient care makes her a great choice to continue the quality care and innovation at Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center.” White joined Sutter Health in September 2016 as vice president of operations at Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation.

Prior to joining Sutter Health, White was responsible for both inpatient and outpatient oversight of the orthopedic and pain management service line for a health system based in Rancho Mirage, California. Her career also has included adjunct teaching in both healthcare and business programs including the University of South Dakota and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. White holds a clinical master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota and an MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is board certified at the fellow level with the American College of Healthcare Executives and also with the American College of Medical Practice Executives/Medical Group Management Association. White replaces Stephen Gray who recently became CEO of Sutter Health Bay Area’s Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley.
