Car Crashes Into Dog Park, Driver Suspected Of DUI: Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz Police suspect a woman was drinking after she drove her car through the Mimi De Marta Park fence Tuesday. Her dog was OK.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — A Soquel woman was arrested Tuesday after police say she drove her car through the Broadway-facing chain link fence of Mimi De Marta Park (119 Broadway) and slid down a slope, into the dog park. Rachel Chapman, 30, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, wrote Santa Cruz Police Department spokesperson Joyce Blaschke.
Chapman had her dog in the car. Police watched her dog as she tried to get in touch with a friend who could pick the dog up.
