Chef Steve Wilson, of Cafe Cruz, who started the event in 2001, said: “As chefs, we frequently serve people who can afford to go out for a nice meal on a regular basis. We are personally affected, though, by the knowledge that there are many in our community who cannot even afford the most basic necessities.”
Wilson added, “We feed people for a living, so this is our way of giving back.”
The six chefs are:
- Kendra L. Baker, Assembly
- Anthony Kresge, Sotola Bar and Grill
- Steve Wilson, Cafe Cruz
- Tom McNary, Carried Away
- Ashley Peixoto, California Grill
- Scott Cater, Paradise Beach Grille
