City Of Santa Cruz Announces Parking Updates Effective June 1 And July 1

SANTA CRUZ — The City of Santa Cruz is extending all parking permits through the end of June in light of circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City’s Parking Office reopens to the public on Monday, June 1.

Monthly parking permits at downtown parking garages are extended through June with no payment required for this month. If a monthly permit parking holder has pre-paid the month of June, the City will credit a month of parking and extend the validity of the permit as appropriate. Regular monthly permit parking fees will be reinstated as of July 1.

Also, existing residential parking permits that were set to expire on May 15 will be extended until July 1 at no charge. New residential parking permits that are required as of July 1 can be purchased through the mail by following directions on the City website and downloading a form. Beginning June 1, these may also be purchased at the Parking Office, 124 Locust Street, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The community is advised to observe posted parking signage, both temporary and permanent, throughout the City. Parking meters are now being enforced.
