City Of Santa Cruz Celebrates Affordable Housing Month With Community Events

The City of Santa Cruz and partner organizations are celebrating Affordable Housing Month this May with a slate of events to provide information to the community about current and future affordable housing efforts.

The City of Santa Cruz Economic Development Department has coordinated 2 virtual and self-guided events that the community is invited to attend:

Self-Guided Bike Tour

Learn about the most recent affordable building properties in Santa Cruz and new ones that are on the horizon. The Self-Guided Bike Tour Map has linked each property name for additional information. The tour begins at the Tannery Arts Center and ends at Water Street Apartments (708 Water Street).

Affordable Housing Finance Class

What factors need to be considered when developing affordable housing? How does the financing work? Chuck Depew of the National Development Council (NDC) has answered these questions and more. Click the link to watch the Santa Cruz Affordable Housing Finance 101 Class virtually.

The Democratic Women’s Club of Santa Cruz County presents the Affordable Housing in Santa Cruz County: Real Opportunities video. This video will discuss achieving the near term impacts on housing production and preservation in Santa Cruz County.
