SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Buried beneath a wall, hidden for decades, a mural depicting Santa Cruz County was unearthed recently, and officials are hoping someone knows the long-lost treasure's history.

The County of Santa Cruz is asking community members for information about the mural that was discovered when crews were renovating the administration building's former cafeteria at 701 Ocean St.

The mural has been preserved and incorporated into the building's new community room, which will be opened soon.
