Dog Stolen From RV In Santa Cruz County Found Safe

Duke was recently reunited with his owner, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A dog stolen from inside a motorhome parked in Live Oak last November was recently found safe, Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office officials said. Duke, a pit bull, was allegedly taken during a burglary in November of 2018.

Although a suspect was arrested for the burglary shortly after the crime, the pup was not found until last week. Authorities said Duke was discovered on the north coast, thanks to a persistent deputy and the dog’s microchip. Duke was reunited with his owner.

This is the second dog to be found safe after being taken during a crime in Santa Cruz County. A female German Shepherd pup stolen from a Live Oak tow yard was found in Roseville in December.
