Driver Hospitalized After Truck Overturns On Highway 17
The driver, 71, was still in the overturned car when officials arrived to the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Scotts Valley man was seriously injured Monday evening after his truck crashed, overturned and landed on its roof on Highway 17, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver, 71, was headed northbound on Highway 17 near El Rancho Drive around 6 p.m. when he struggled to navigate a sweeping right turn in the road, according to a CHP news release. His pickup truck left the road to the west, crashed into a guard rail, then overturned onto its roof.
He was still inside the car when first responders arrived. He was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol and drugs are not thought to be factors in the crash.
