SANTA CRUZ, CA — A driver who got stuck on a popular Santa Cruz beach this week got a little help — and a citation — from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office. On Wednesday morning, two deputies on patrol discovered the stranded driver, who had parked on Santa Maria Beach overnight while camping.

After deputies issued the driver a ticket, a nearby construction crew helped drag the van out of the sand.
