Earthquakes Shake Near Santa Cruz County
The earthquakes were near Santa Cruz County borderlines.
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — A magnitude 3.9 earthquake that struck approximately 30 miles due east of the City of Santa Cruz Wednesday night was followed up Thursday morning by a 2.7 temblor about 80 miles southeast of the city.
The United States Geological Survey reported Wednesday's quake was about 5.8 miles northeast of Morgan Hill in Santa Clara County. It struck at 11:16 p.m.
Thursday's morning's temblor struck just east of Pinnacles National Park, which is located on the borders of San Benito and Monterey counties. It hit at 8:34 a.m., according to the USGS.
