What:  6th Annual Farm to Table Wine Dinner Series

When: A reception with wine and passed hors d’oeurves begins at 6:00 pm followed by a full dinner and endless wine at 6:30 pm.

Why Go:  Participants join together and solve clues as they discover 20 historically significant places in Santa Cruz, earning points along the way.  Points lead to prizes in this citywide scavenger hunt.

What:  Annual Coastal Clean Up Day

When:  9a.m – 12p.m.

Why Go:  Save Our Shores captains will host clean up sites for California’s biggest volunteer effort of the year.

 

What: The 10th Annual Gourmet Grazing on the Green

When:  12p.m. – 4p.m.

Where:  Aptos Village Park

Why Go:  Come together for a very important cause.  The Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit group brings live music, locally crafted beers, wine, and food from dozens of restaurants for a day of fun while raising funds for The Teen Kitchen Project, Jacob’s Heart, Women Care Cancer Advocacy, and Hospice of Santa Cruz.

What:  Movies at the Mission

When:  7p.m. – 10p.m.

Where:  Santa Cruz Mission State Historic park

Why Go:  Bring the fam and enjoy the outdoor screening of  “Anchorman,” starring Will Ferrill and Steve Carrell. This last SC Mission movie event of the summer was filmed in Malibu Creek State Park.

Why Go: “Pediatric cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. taking the lives of more children than asthma, AIDS, multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy combined.  A lack of funding into new and improved therapies contributes to this sobering statistic. Team G Foundation and local residents from Aptos, Capitola, Scotts Valley and Watsonville will to eradicate childhood cancer when they partner in the second annual Cookies for Cancer Bake Sale. TEAM PARTNERS WITH COOKIES FOR CANCER BAKE SALE AND AIM TO RAISE $20,000 TO ERADICATE CHILDHOOD CANCER”

What: The 13th annual Surf City AIDS Ride

When: Registration at 6:30 a.m. (100-mile), 7:30 a.m. (60-mile), 8:30 a.m. (30- and 12-mile)

Where:  Rides start at the Santa Cruz County Court House

Why Go:  Help ensure the future of the Santa Cruz Aids Project, a program of the Santa Cruz Community Counseling Center, founded in 1985.  This group aims to strengthen those infected by HIV and support those affected.  Grab your bike and enjoy the ride!

What:  San Francisco Comedy Competition

When:  9p.m.

Where:  The Crow’s Nest

Why Go:  10 + live comics on one stage in one night.  Take a break from the grind and get caught up in the laughter of this comical line up.
