Bookshop Santa Cruz will be hosting our next Community Book Group with local author Bill Domhoff to discuss his title, The Left Most City. A research professor of sociology and psychology at UCSC, Bill Domhoff has written a book that looks at Santa Cruz's local politics and extended his case study of Santa Cruz to critique theories of urban power everywhere, questioning just how far and exactly what local power can and cannot do. With November's election right around the corner, Julie Minnis (Bookshop's Book Group facilitator) and Bill will take the book and open it up to a wider discussion of politics and movement, looking widely at who and what can lead to political change.
