Who: Members wish to learn personal manufacturing and upgrade their skillsWhen: Classes are scheduled through October; initial facility will open in November.
Vision: The MakersFactory (MFY) venture will balance new hardware and software technology to create innovative products and jobs that will transform our workforce and society. Technology factors often emphasize the virtual and Internet world, but reality dictates that a solid social connection must be made to create a making and doing culture. A Maker's digital community engages citizens in creating on-line materials and off-line, hands-on, digital projects.
Goals: The MFY Meetup Group will be an exploration of ideas, connections, personal manufacturing, entrepreneurship, and business startup development. Your ideas and advice will drive your success and success for the community.
Viral ideas often are the spark that carries us to new places and endeavors. The viral idea of MakersFactory is being a collaborative place to transform ideas into marketable products. MakersFactory will provide collaboration and learning while building a community of personal manufacturing. We will provide entrepreneurial connections that lead to local startup businesses and stable employment.

Chris will introduce the Santa Cruz Community to its new MakersFactory. There will be presentations by Digital Object manufacturers already in Santa Cruz. We will also display work by Santa Cruz Makers and digital objects produced by DIY 3D printers from MakersFactory.
