Fire In Storey Street Home 'Unintentional': Santa Cruz Fire Dept.
Although the fire remained under investigation, it was classified as unintentional and not suspicious in nature.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — An Aug. 30 residential fire that displaced nine people was unitentional, according to a preliminary report from the Santa Cruz Fire Department.
The non-injury blaze at 215 Storey Street was reported around 8:41 a.m. The first arriving SCFD unit reported smoke and fire coming from the two-story residence, and the home's occupants were standing out front, according to the SCFD.
Additional fire crews arrived on scene; once they got inside the home, fire was found in a second-floor bedroom.

It took about 15 minutes to fully extinguish the blaze.
