Free Pick Up and Recycling of Holiday Trees in Santa Cruz

Save the dates so you can easily dispose of your tree.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The City of Santa Cruz offers its residents two options for free pick up of holiday trees from January 1 to 14. Residents may also drop their trees off at the Resource Recovery Facility throughout the month of January at no charge. In all cases, ornaments, tinsel and stands must be removed. Flocked trees will not be accepted.

Residents who desire curbside pickup service must put their tree out on their regularly scheduled trash collection day. Trees must be 6 feet in length or less; therefore trees may need to be cut. Trees should not be placed against carts; residents should allow 2 feet of space between carts and tree.

Residents may also have trees collected in their GreenCycle! cart. Tree and branches must be trimmed down so that the tree fits into the cart with the lid closed and will easily slide out when the cart is serviced.
