BREAKING: The 20-year-old this weekend succumbed to injuries. Funds may go to reward. Search on for silver Honda CR-V driver.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA – A 20-year-old college student who died over the weekend from injuries in a hit-and-run collision in Santa Cruz late last month had been coming home from a Halloween party.

Alexandria "Alex" Arceneaux, a student at University of California at Santa Cruz, was leaving a Halloween party on Oct. 30 when she was hit by a car and sent to an intensive care unit, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser page.

A car struck Arceneaux before 2 a.m. at southbound state Highway 1 between River and Mission streets, then left the scene without stopping, police said.

Detectives are asking auto body shops in the area to look out for the suspect vehicle, a 2010 to 2012 silver Honda CR-V that may have damage to its passenger's side bumper, police said.

Arceneaux started attending UCSC in September 2014 and was an undergraduate student affiliated with the school's Rachel Carson College, university officials said.

She was majoring in theater arts and minoring in education, according to the university.

The college's Counseling and Psychological Services is available to provide support on campus to the school community in coping with the death, university officials said.

A GoFundMe campaign initially created to help the woman's family with travel expenses to the Bay Area has raised $16,660, well above its $15,000 goal as of late today.

The donations will now be used for her "home-going services" and medical bills, her family posted on the fundraising page.

Additional money will be set aside for a reward that will be awarded to anyone with information that leads to the hit-and-run driver's arrest, according to the family.

Anyone with information on the suspect vehicle or driver is asked to call police at (831) 420-5820.
