Holy Mole! Davenport Dog Rescued After Owner Accidentally Locks Keys In Car

The adorable little pup, named Mole (like the sauce), watched intently as a team of concerned community members worked to free him.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Santa Cruz County dog was rescued this week by a deputy after the owner accidentally locked him and the keys inside the car. The owner called the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office for help. The pup, named Mole (like the sauce), watched intently as a team of concerned community members joined Deputy Jason Dunn and the owner as they tried to free him.

Temperatures inside a car can quickly climb 20 degrees in 10 minutes and keep climbing. Dogs do not sweat the way humans do, and they can quickly fall victim to heat exhaustion.

Luckily, little Mole was freed and reunited with his owner outside the car.
