SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Santa Cruz County Sheriff's deputies found a Santa Cruz woman, 55, dead in her home late Tuesday morning. The sheriff's office said she apparently suffered trauma and it is investigating her death as a homicide.
The woman, Kimberly Smith, was found shortly before noon at her home in the 800 block of Graham Hill Road, west of Pasatiempo. Deputies responded to her home after a 911 caller reported an unconscious woman inside the home, said sheriff's office spokesperson Ashley Keehn.
An autopsy is scheduled later this week.
