Injured Person Rescued On Sycamore Grove Trail

Police received word that people who were armed and confrontational may have been on scene.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — Santa Cruz Police performed an early morning rescue an injured person on a trail in Sycamore Grove this weekend.

Police learned around 6 a.m. Saturday that a person was injured in the area and people who were possibly armed and confrontational were on scene, department spokesperson Joyce Blaschke write. Officers came prepared with non-lethal weapons, N95 masks and shields.

The call came as patrolling officers were 11 hours into a 12-hour shift.

The patient was found and no weapons were located on scene, police said.

Officers took the patient to an ambulance.
