Gunman On Loose After Juvenile Shot, Hospitalized In Santa Cruz
The victim's injuries were not life threatening and he was treated at Dominican Hospital. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — A juvenile male was injured in a shooting Tuesday night in the 100 block of Kaye Street, near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the Santa Cruz Police Department announced Wednesday morning. No arrests have been made, but a suspect would be charged with attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited home, police say.
The victim's injuries were not life threatening and he was treated at Dominican Hospital, according to a statement from police department. Other people were in the line of fire, but were not injured, police say.
A caller reported hearing shots around 9:15 p.m. and officers headed to the area of Third and Kaye Streets, police say. Police found evidence of the shooting and spoke with witnesses.

Santa Cruz Police Department detectives arrived on scene, conducted interviews, processed the crime scene and worked the case overnight. They reviewed surveillance footage and determined "this was a targeted act of violence," according to the statement. Detectives will follow up on leads.
