Listen: Local Artist Writes Songs About Social Distancing For SJC

Flying out of San Jose? You'll hear a Santa Cruz artist reminding you to "keep that cover on your face, give me six feet, we need space."

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The Mineta San José International Airport has taken a creative approach to encouraging passengers to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing.

Santa Cruz singer-songwriter Nick Gallant was commissioned to write three catchy tunes reminding guests to practice social distancing and good hygiene.

"Keep that cover on your face, give me six feet, we need space," Gallant croons over the speakers of the Silicon Valley airport. "You and me are gonna take the steps we need to keep each other safe, so we can fly today, in and out of San Jose!"

SJC sought to find a creative and engaging way to remind guests to be safe, said airport Assistant Director of Aviation Judy Ross.

“As a frequent SJC traveler before the pandemic who is very eager to get back in the skies, it was a thrill to partner with the SJC team to develop these fun and catchy tunes to remind everyone how important it is that we do our part to make safe and healthy travel possible,” Gallant said in the news release.
