SCC Sheriff: Body Found During Search For Kidnap Victim

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — The search for a man who was kidnapped early Tuesday morning has turned up a body.
Around 3 a.m., Tushar Atre, 50, was taken from his home in the 3000 block of Pleasure Point Drive "during a crime," the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office reported.
He was last seen getting into his white 2008 BMW SUV with California license plate 7CUG581.

The sheriff's office put out a public alert, asking residents to be on the lookout for the vehicle and Atre. Then, around 10 a.m., deputies responded to the 24000 block of Soquel San Jose Road near the Summit and found the BMW — along with a body.
The deceased's identity has not been released. Sheriff’s detectives are actively working on the case and will send out more information as it becomes available.
