Man Arrested In Assault Case, Police Say

Officers spotted his car and arrested him Monday in Santa Cruz, police said.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — Santa Cruz Police say they arrested Monday a man wanted in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers located James Campos and stopped his car near Plymouth and Button streets. He was arrested and booked into jail.

His passenger, Jessica Anthenien, was arrested on suspicion of possessing burglary tools, police said. Police say she was cited for possessing drug paraphernalia at the jail.

As of Tuesday morning, Campos and Anthenien were no longer in jail, jail records show.
