Man Arrested In Santa Cruz County Slaying
On June 14 deputies found a man in the Santa Cruz Mountains, dead of a gunshot wound.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A San Jose man has been arrested in connection with a Santa Cruz County shooting last month.
Albaro M. Amaral, 30, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of three felony charges related to second-degree murder and two felony carjacking charges, jail records show. One carjacking arrest warrant was filed by Milpitas police.
Amaral's arrest dates back to a June 14 incident in which deputies were called to the 1700 block of Laurel Road and Highway 17 after learning a man in the area had a gun, the sheriff's office said. They found one man fatally shot — Kevin Medina-Lopez, 27, of San Jose — and learned the gunman had tried to shoot two others, the sheriff's office said.
