Man Breaks In, Climbs On Roof Of Jail To Get Arrested, SCCSO Says
The man admitted to being under the influence of prescription drugs, a Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — A man who was discovered on the roof of the Santa Cruz County Jail on Valentine's Day was arrested, a Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said. The man, who was allegedly in possession of a large knife and methamphetamine, told authorities he was trying to get back into jail when he broke into the jail property.
The 26-year-old man, who was identified as Tejarri Williams, jumped down off the roof and admitted to being under the influence of prescription drugs, authorities said.
Williams was arrested and booked into the jail on suspicion of trespassing and several other charges. He remains in custody.
