Man Charged With Fatal Santa Cruz Co. Hit-And-Run

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Boulder Creek man was arrested in San Jose Tuesday, on suspicion of a hit-and-run crash earlier this month that killed Sara Youhas, 73.

Cody McGhee, 31, was arrested in connection with her death, the California Highway Patrol said. He was arrested on suspicion of charges related to a fatal hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter, fleeing the scene of a crime without malice aforethought, inflicting serious injury on a person older than 70 and violating probation, CHP said.

Youhas, a Boulder Creek resident, liked to take daily walks along Bear Creek Road. She was reported missing July 14 and her body was found in the area two days later.
